This strategic hire will contribute to the expansion of the firm's advisory capabilities in digital finance, emerging technologies, and evolving EU regulatory frameworks, including MiCA.Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and delivery of the firm's Fintech and digital assets offering.
- Advise on regulatory matters related to MiCA, CASP licensing, crypto-asset issuances, stablecoins, digital wallets, and blockchain-based solutions.
- Assist clients with MFSA licensing, compliance, governance, prudential requirements, and ongoing supervisory obligations.
- Draft and review regulatory documentation, policies, manuals, and internal controls.
- Engage directly with clients in fintech, digital assets, and regulated financial services.
- Contribute to business development, client growth, and thought-leadership initiatives.
- Qualified lawyer or experienced practitioner in financial services and fintech regulation.
- Strong knowledge of Maltese and EU regulatory frameworks (MiCA, DORA, PSD2/PSD3, EMD, MiFID II).
- Experience liaising with regulatory authorities such as the MFSA and FIAU.
- Excellent analytical, drafting, and communication skills.
- Proactive, commercially minded, and genuinely interested in financial innovation and emerging technologies.
