- Lead the day-to-day operations of the credit department, ensuring timely handling of queries, reviews, and escalations.
- Run due-diligence and credit approval processes in line with internal policies and regulatory expectations.
- Monitor portfolio performance; conduct risk assessments, early-warning analysis, and periodic stress testing.
- Maintain and enhance credit policies, procedures, and limits; drive continuous improvement across processes and tooling.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to balance risk, commercial growth, and client experience.
- Prepare management information packs and present insights to senior leadership and relevant committees.
- Stay current on market trends and regulatory updates; recommend policy and appetite adjustments where needed.
- Coach, mentor, and develop team members, setting clear objectives and performance standards.
- Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel/data proficiency and sound judgement in decision-making.
- Clear communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to challenge constructively.
- Excellent organisation and time management; dependable under deadlines and comfortable working autonomously.
- A results-driven mindset with high attention to detail and control.
- 5+ years experience in credit management or closely related roles within banking/financial services.
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or a related field (post-grad/ACCA/CFA is a plus).
- Demonstrable experience leading credit processes and guiding junior team members.
