The Senior Regulatory Data Analyst will serve as a key advisor within the Regulatory Insights & Advisory team, specialising in interpreting and applying complex regulatory frameworks. The role focuses on ensuring that supervisory and resolution reporting is accurate, compliant, and aligned with evolving EU directives, local regulations, and international guidelines. The Analyst will provide actionable guidance, liaise with regulatory bodies, and support cross-functional initiatives to enhance the Business’s regulatory and reporting practices.Key Responsibilities
- Regulatory Advisory: Offer expert guidance on regulatory matters, including prudential capital, liquidity reporting, financial reporting, and recovery and resolution frameworks, supporting internal stakeholders in technical queries and optimal regulatory interpretation.
- Regulatory Developments: Monitor evolving regulatory requirements, maintain internal documentation, identify gaps, assess operational impacts, and provide timely recommendations to relevant teams.
- Regulatory Liaison: Engage with regulators and external advisors on regulatory topics, formulate responses to consultations, and collaborate on industry projects to prepare for upcoming regulatory changes.
- Regulatory Projects: Contribute to regulatory projects, supporting the development of interpretations and practical guidance, and assist teams with implementation and compliance initiatives.
- Knowledge Sharing and Training: Deliver training and guidance to internal stakeholders, fostering a culture of proactive compliance, and assist in developing training materials or programmes as needed.
- Education and Experience: MQF Level 5 Award in Financial Law, Banking and Finance, Risk Management, Accountancy, or a related area, together with 4 years of experience in financial regulatory environments, regulatory compliance, or risk management within banking or financial services. Candidates with 2 years of the same experience but holding an MQF Level 6 Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field are given preference.
- Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required; Maltese language skills are advantageous.
- Communication Skills: Ability to articulate complex regulatory concepts clearly to internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Interpersonal Skills: Collaborative and proactive, capable of working effectively across teams and with external advisors.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of banking regulations, prudential frameworks (CRR III/CRD VI/BRRD), and regulatory reporting standards such as COREP or FINREP.
- Organisation: Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet tight deadlines.
- Self-Motivated: Driven and proactive in staying up to date with regulatory developments and process improvements.
- Problem-Solving: Skilled in analysing regulatory requirements, identifying gaps, and providing actionable solutions.
