The Night Supervisor is responsible for the security, supervision, welfare and discipline of students overnight within the residence and is on call in case of any emergency.Key Responsibilities:
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of all students under your care and those you interact with.
- Ensure the Centre operates to the highest standards of relevant Health & Safety, safeguarding, HR practices.
- Maximise student and group leader satisfaction by ensuring their experience meets or exceeds expectations.
- Ensure student welfare is maintained by carrying out regular inspections of the residential areas during the duty period.
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of students in line with legal, accreditation and company requirements.
- Establish a routine of checks to ensure students are in their rooms and lights are out.
- Retain responsibility for holding the master keys to residential buildings during duty shifts.
- Assist with arrivals and departures when these fall during the duty period.
- Act as a representative of the management team, being the representative in case of emergency and calling the duty manager when appropriate.
- Report any major security issues to the Centre security staff and the Centre Manager.
- Ensure communal areas are kept tidy and report any unnecessary untidiness or damages.
- Help with centre laundry during the night – Activity Leader t-shirts & towels.
- Degree-level education or equivalent (or currently pursuing).
- Valid First Aid Certificate (desirable).
- Safeguarding Level 1 and 2 (desirable – if not in possession, Embassy Summer will provide the necessary courses upon successful selection).
- Previous experience working in customer facing industry, ideally with multi-cultural aspect.
- Previous experience working with juniors.
- Experience managing a summer school environment.
- Night patrol experience.
- Flexibility to work unsociable hours.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to solve complex problems and manage challenging situations.
- Ability to work as part of a team & independently.
- Uphold appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people.
- Ability to work under pressure and multi-tasking.
- Positive attitude toward maintaining authority and discipline.
- Clean driving license/own car (desirable).
- High attention to detail.
- Fluent in written and spoken English (knowledge of any other languages is considered advantageous).
- Must be eligible to work in the EU.
- Commitment to safeguarding the welfare of children and young people.
- All CV gaps must be satisfactorily explained.
- Proof of identity and qualifications (if applicable) required.
- Clear Criminal Record Check and references must be provided before signing the contract.
- 6 nights per week.
- 4 nights (23:00 - 04:00).
- Friday - Saturday inclusive (23:00 - 07:00).
