Associate Lawyer – Corporate & Commercial

Heroix is collaborating with our Client to recruit an Associate Lawyer - Corporate & Commercial to work closely under senior leadership, offering legal, strategic, and administrative support across Corporate and Commercial Law, Dispute Resolution, Tax, Intellectual Property, IT, Gaming, and Compliance matters. The role requires a meticulous, proactive professional capable of balancing complex legal tasks with operational responsibilities in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.Key Responsibilities
  • Partner Support: Work alongside senior leadership to provide direct legal and operational assistance on diverse client matters and internal initiatives.
  • Client Advisory: Deliver guidance to clients on corporate, commercial, and regulatory issues, ensuring solutions are practical, compliant, and aligned with best practices.
  • Documentation & Negotiation: Prepare, analyse, and negotiate contracts and legal documents spanning multiple practice areas, including company law, intellectual property, IT, and gaming regulations.
  • Corporate Governance: Manage company law duties such as corporate structuring, compliance filings, and secretarial tasks when required.
  • Regulatory & Compliance Liaison: Support investment-related and regulatory matters, liaising with auditors, regulators, and external counsel to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
  • Legal Research & Briefing: Conduct in-depth research, prepare concise summaries, and provide actionable recommendations across overlapping legal domains.
  • Administrative Coordination: Streamline schedules, document management, follow-ups, and project tracking to ensure smooth operational workflow.
  • Client Engagement: Participate in client meetings, prepare documentation, and ensure prompt follow-up on key actions.
Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes
  • Education: Degree in Law.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience in Corporate and Commercial Law or a related field.
  • Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required; Maltese language skills are an advantage.
  • Communication Skills: Clear and professional written and verbal communication; adept at drafting legal documents and corresponding with clients.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong relationship-building skills, capable of collaborating effectively across teams and client groups.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in corporate and commercial law, regulatory frameworks, and compliance requirements across multiple practice areas.
  • Organisation: Exceptional ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and operational tasks simultaneously.
  • Self-Motivated: Proactive, detail-focused, and able to work independently in a high-pressure environment.
  • Problem-Solving: Analytical and pragmatic approach to resolving legal and operational challenges.
