We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Cleaner on a casual or part time basis to join our team at a residential care home.The Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for our elderly residents, staff, and visitors in accordance with health regulations and the home's standards of care. Key Responsibilities: • Perform daily cleaning duties including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces. • Clean residents’ rooms, common areas, bathrooms, kitchens, and hallways. • Dispose of rubbish and clinical waste according to guidelines. • Replenish cleaning supplies and toiletries as required. • Adhere to infection control procedures and safety protocols. • Report maintenance issues or hazards to the appropriate supervisor. • Handle cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and effectively. • Show respect and compassion when working around elderly residents. • Maintain confidentiality and uphold the dignity of all residents. Qualifications and Skills: • Previous cleaning experience, preferably in aged care or healthcare settings. • Understanding of hygiene and infection control standards. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Good communication skills. • Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks. • Police clearance. • English Speaking. Desirable: • Experience with elderly or vulnerable populations. • First Aid and Food Handling certificate will be an asset.ProfilesCompetencies
