Our client is seeking to recruit for a Head of Legal and Compliance. As Head of Legal & Compliance, you will oversee all legal and compliance matters ensuring alignment with EU and national regulations.Duties include:

Direct and oversee the Legal & Compliance function, ensuring robust governance and effective risk management across the organization.
Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership and the Board on legal, regulatory, and compliance matters.
Deliver commercially focused, solution-oriented legal guidance that supports business objectives and sustainable growth.
Lead the drafting, review, and negotiation of key agreements, including Commercial Agreements, SaaS Contracts, Distribution Agreements, Reinsurance Treaties, and Group Insurance Policies.
Provide specialist advice on insurance policy wording, claims disputes, coverage interpretation, and product development.
Support legal and contractual aspects of partnerships and intra-group arrangements across the organization.
Ensure adherence to EU and national regulatory frameworks, including Solvency II, the Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD), and AML/CFT requirements.
Oversee regulatory compliance of insurance products, governance frameworks, and operational processes.
Provide legal support for cross-border initiatives and new market entry strategies.
Lead legal risk management initiatives and oversee dispute resolution strategies.
Manage litigation matters, claims exposures, and external counsel relationships efficiently and strategically.

Requirements

7 years of experience within the insurance industry is required
Proven track record in managing legal and compliance functions across multiple jurisdictions.
Masters Degree in Law
Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
Strong knowledge of insurance products and regulations
