GRS Recruitment are excited to announce a new opportunity for an IT Security Engineer to join our client, a leading IT company based in Malta. This is a fantastic chance for a dedicated professional to contribute to the security of IT systems in a dynamic environment. We are looking for an IT Security Engineer to join our professional team of Engineers. In this technical position the selected person will be responsible for implementing cyber security-focused technologies and services while working with other technical engineers and project team members to create secure environments for our customers. The ideal candidate will also participate in tier 2/3 security operations support, on-call rotation, and incident handling and remediation.MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAssist in the development, implementation, and management of IT security policies and procedures.Conduct regular security assessments and audits to ensure systems are monitored and vulnerabilities are identified.Collaborate with the IT team to safeguard systems against security threats.Respond to incidents, perform investigations, and provide recommendations for remediation.Stay current with emerging security threats and industry trends to proactively enhance security measures.CANDIDATE PROFILE

A degree in computer science, IT, systems engineering, or related qualification.
2 + 3 years’ work experience in configuration and troubleshooting VPN technologies, IPS systems, content security, security information and event management systems.
Good knowledge of IP networking, Routing, Firewalls, Endpoint Security.
Basic knowledge and understanding of a minimum of 3 of following areas: Next Generation Firewalls, Network Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems, Web Application Firewalls, Log management & SIEM, Cloud Security Platforms, SOAR Platforms, Endpoint Security Suites, Automation skills utilising Powershell or Python.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and problem-solving skills.
Preference will be given to candidates who have entry certifications in IT security-related fields from industry leaders like Check Point, Cisco, CyberArk, etc.
