Their Malta-based business provides exceptional business administrative and accounting services to the group companies. They are now seeking a Full-Time Accountant to strengthen their finance function with professional expertise and hands-on support.About The Role:The Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of their financial records. This role suits a qualified accountant or a professional with equivalent experience who is comfortable working independently and delivering high-quality outputs within agreed deadlines.The ideal candidate will be confident in handling end-to-end accounting processes, supporting management with meaningful analysis, and ensuring compliance with local regulations.Key Responsibilities:1. Financial Management & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records across ledgers.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and other periodic financial reports.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Ensure timely preparation and submission of group-level financial data.
2. Accounts Payable & Receivable
  • Oversee the processing and approval of supplier invoices and payments.
  • Manage customer invoicing and credit control.
  • Ensure reconciliation of AP and AR balances and resolve discrepancies promptly.
3. Tax Compliance
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns and other statutory filings.
  • Support corporate tax compliance by preparing necessary schedules and liaising with tax advisors.
  • Maintain awareness of Maltese accounting and tax requirements.
4. Bank & Balance Sheet Reconciliation
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Reconcile all key balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
5. Advisory & Process Improvement
  • Provide financial insights to management to support decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and financial controls.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Education: Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CPA) or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a similar role, preferably in a multi-entity environment.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in accounting software; SAP experience is an advantage. Advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Soft Skills: High attention to detail, strong analytical abilities, excellent organizational skills, and effective communication.
Additional Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of Maltese accounting regulations and tax laws.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Professional integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
Work Environment:
  • Full-time role with flexible hours (to be agreed with the successful candidate).
  • Office-based with potential for hybrid arrangements after initial onboarding.
  • Flexibility may be required during peak periods (e.g., year-end closing, audits).
