Join us in driving Excellence, empowering People, and enhancing Communication to create a thriving and impactful workplace.About the roleThe Team Leader will support the effective delivery of a specialist Day Programme for adults with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD). Reporting to the Programme Manager, the Team Leader shall be responsible for supervising support staff, maintaining high-quality, person-centred care, ensuring a safe and stimulating environment, and supporting multidisciplinary collaboration to meet everyone’s complex needs. The Team Leader shall be the point of reference for the Non-Therapeutic Employees including the Support Workers and Volunteers falling under the STAR Programme.What you'll be doing
  • Act as a point of reference for support staff to ensure compassionate, high-quality care for service users.
  • Assist the Manager in daily operations, including organizing documents such as timetables, attendance records, schedules, feedback forms, and KPIs.
  • Support the Manager in delivering staff supervision, coaching, and performance reviews with a focus on reflection and empowerment.
  • Assist with staff onboarding, mandatory training, and ongoing professional development.
  • Promote a respectful, collaborative, and positive team culture.
  • Support the smooth running of the programme in the Manager’s absence and perform additional duties as required.
  • Provide hands-on support to team members on the floor when needed.
  • Support the Manager in overseeing daily operations of the STAR programme, ensuring alignment with best practices and individual care plans based on active support.
  • Monitor service user engagement in activities, adjusting approaches to meet sensory, physical, and cognitive needs in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Ensure health-related needs (e.g. feeding, toileting, medication, mobility) are met according to individual care protocols.
  • Attend meetings with parents/guardians and professionals, particularly during service user onboarding and as needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of daily activities, incidents, progress, and care interventions in line with organisational policies.
  • Assist in drafting programme-specific policies and procedures.
  • Assist with organising staff and service user documentation (e.g. timetables, attendance, schedules, feedback forms, KPIs).
  • Ensure the programme runs smoothly in the Manager’s absence and perform additional duties as required.
  • Provide hands-on support to staff on the floor when needed.
What we're looking forWe are seeking a compassionate, empathetic, and goal-driven individual to join our STAR Programme as a full-time Team Leader. The ideal candidate will promote a positive and inclusive team culture.Qualifications & ExperienceThe ideal candidate should possess the following:
  • In possession of a qualification recognized at MQF Level 6 (Degree) in Social Science or in Disability Studies.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience within the disability field (ideally cognitive / PMLD).
  • High proficiency in English language (C1 Level - both spoken & written).
