- Developing and implementing effective compliance programs to ensure the company's adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Spearheading regulatory work and monitoring changes in legislation and regulations, and providing guidance to the company on the impact of these changes.
- Researching and analyzing various offshore jurisdictions to understand their licensing requirements and regulations.
- Generating comprehensive reports to present to the board, outlining the costs associated with obtaining licenses versus the regulatory requirements.
- Identifying the commercial benefits and potential gains from acquiring licenses in different jurisdictions, inclusive of offshore jurisdictions.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and regulatory compliance.
- The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate findings to stakeholders. Prior experience in offshore jurisdictions research or related fields is preferred.
- Draft, review, and finalize a variety of agreements, contracts, and legal documents to safeguard the company's interests.
- Provide timely and accurate legal advice to senior management on a wide range of legal matters including but not limited to labor law, partnerships, international ventures, and corporate finance.
- Clarify legal terminology and specifications as necessary, ensuring clear understanding across departments.
- Conduct thorough research and evaluation of risk factors associated with business decisions and operations.
- Present legal issues to senior management, offering comprehensive analysis, alternative options, and well-founded recommendations.
- Working closely with the Compliance Team as well as other departments to support on legal matters including contracts issues, players disputes, license and compliance reporting, as well as making applications to relevant regulators;
- Stay abreast of changes in legislation relevant to the company's operations and ensure compliance.
- Undertake any additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned to meet evolving business needs.
- Law degree from a recognized institution, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in regulatory and compliance matters.
- Experience in the iGaming industry is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply laws and regulations.
- Excellent legal research and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Experience in managing a team is preferred.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of other languages is an advantage.
