Our client, operating in the retail industry, is looking for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer with deep expertise in on-premises infrastructure (servers, storage, virtualisation) and cloud platforms to design, optimise, and manage our hybrid IT environments, to join their team.Responsibilities:You will be responsible for ensuring high-performance, resilient, and scalable systems while driving modernisation efforts across physical, virtual, and cloud infrastructure.

Deploy, configure, and maintain enterprise-grade bare-metal servers, SAN / Storage and hyperconverged infrastructure.
Administer and optimise VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, or KVM environments, including cluster management, resource allocation, and performance tuning.
Design and implement hybrid cloud solutions with a focus on seamless workload mobility, backup, and disaster recovery.
Architect and maintain failover clusters, storage replication and backup.

Requirements

Proficiency in cloud migration and hybrid cloud networking
Scripting skills for automation and API integrations.
Strong understanding of network-attached storage (NFS, SMB), RAID configurations, and storage QoS
Certifications: VMware VCP, AWS/Azure Solutions Architect, Nutanix NCP, or Storage-specific.

Education and Experience

5+ years managing enterprise servers (HPE, Dell, Cisco UCS), storage arrays, and virtualization platforms.
Hands-on experience with software-defined storage, fiber channel/iSCSI, and storage tiering.
