Role OverviewThe Head of Country, Malta will serve as the senior-most leader responsible for the establishment, management, and commercial success of our Maltese entity. This role requires a strong commercial mindset, regulatory understanding, and the ability to drive growth through client relationships, partnerships, and operational excellence.The successful candidate will combine entrepreneurial drive with structured execution, acting as the local face of Interpolitan while aligning with global strategy.Key ResponsibilitiesEntity Leadership & Governance
  • Lead and oversee all aspects of the Malta office, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements (MFSA, EU directives, etc.).
  • Serve as the principal liaison with regulators, auditors, and key stakeholders.
Commercial & Client Growth
  • Build and execute a local business development strategy aligned with group objectives.
  • Develop relationships with corporate clients, family offices, and intermediaries to grow client accounts and transaction volumes.
  • Identify local partnership opportunities (banks, legal, fintechs, service providers) to strengthen the ecosystem.
Operational Oversight
  • Establish and maintain internal controls, reporting, and governance standards in line with Group policies.
  • Oversee client onboarding, compliance, and operational processes to ensure seamless service delivery.
Team Building
  • Hire, mentor, and lead a small, high-performing team to support sales, operations, and compliance locally.
  • Instill a culture of accountability, integrity, and client-first service.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in financial services, banking, fintech, or related sectors.
  • Proven track record of business development and revenue generation.
  • Strong understanding of European/ Maltese financial regulations and compliance standards.
  • Experience in liaising with regulators, auditors, and legal authorities.
  • Ability to build and scale teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, relationship management, and leadership skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a pragmatic, hands-on approach.
