The main role is to assist the welder in welding duties and basic assembly of products and in house maintenance. On the job training will be given when required.Making part of the Green Skip Team the company expects the Garage assistant to carry out his / her duties in a professional manner and in the best interest of the company. Following is a description of the main duties required for the position. Essential requirements: • Be punctual. • Appearance should be neat and clean according to company hand book. • Personal hygiene is imperative. • Attitude towards your colleagues and towards our customers must be positive at all times Job overview and essential functions: As a Garage assistant you are required to assist in work required , the main scope and duties of this role will be assisting the company welder and fabricator in the following: • On the job training of Welding and design of new structures and assembling processes. • Repairs and maintenance of industrial skips and /or any metal structures required by the company. • Assist in repairs and maintenance in general of the company’s equipment, plant and metal structures in buildings installations. • The garage assistant will be required to perform welding duties on equipment or any structure required on the company premises and also offsite assisting the company welder. • Assist with the garage organisation and upkeeping as instructed by the H&S Officer, your trainer and HR to ensure a safe working environment. You will be requested to make use of protective personal equipment provided and follow all health and safety regulations pertaining to your role of work. • Be trained to evaluate damages to bins, skips and other related equipment and assist in repairs and compile any required reports to the operations department.ProfilesIf multiple Education and Language Profiles are defined, please note that you must fit at least one of them, but not necessarily all.PROFILE 1LanguageReadingSpeakingUnderstandingWritingENGLISHMALTESEISCED Level: Post-secondary non-tertiary education - Level (4)Competencies

Check conformity of welding work, constructions and assemblies
Determine materials and welding types based on instructions, technical documents, plans
Prepare connections and parts, tubes, profiles or place them on a carrier
Evaluate mistakes, do necessary rewelding of finishing work (welds, state of the surface, sediments)
Check material and regulate welding parameters (intensity, flow) according to material and welding connections
Perform precautionary or corrective basic maintenance of machines or equipment
Join/connect/weld together different parts to each other or to carrier (assembly)
Do welding connections: fillet weld
Do welding connections: pipe weld
Check operation and safety of installations
Determine actions for installation, assembly or adjustments. Check supply and tools for the work station
Fix, assemble and attach pieces. Check whether the assembly was executed correctly (use, look)
Clean and clear the working area (equipment, accessories...)
Rework or finish surfaces (sheet metal work, paintwork...)
