In this role, you will be responsible for proactive customer outreach, payment follow-ups, and managing overdue accounts. You’ll work closely with customers to understand their situations, provide tailored repayment options, and help them meet their financial obligations—all while maintaining professionalism and empathy.Your focus:
- Initiate and manage outbound phone calls and emails to customers with overdue payments
- Build rapport with customers while professionally discussing outstanding balances
- Negotiate realistic and sustainable repayment plans
- Motivate customers to fulfill their financial commitments
- Investigate reasons for delayed payments through structured conversations
- Identify and escalate risk or fraud cases when necessary
- Track and monitor payment agreements to ensure follow-through
- Verify and update customer contact information using various data sources
- Log all actions, customer interactions, and outcomes accurately in internal systems
- Support the collections team and manager with ad hoc tasks and ongoing projects
- Fluent in German (spoken and written); English fluency is a strong asset
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
- Motivated, goal-oriented, and resilient in customer-facing situations
- Previous experience in collections, credit control, or customer service
- Experience using CRM or call center tools
- Familiarity with regulated financial environments
