Our client is looking for an Electrical Cost Estimator who will be responsible for forecasting the cost of electrical projects, including labor, materials, and equipment.Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for electrical systems and projects, including materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Conduct analysis based on project blueprints, specifications, and local electrical regulations in Malta.
  • Develop detailed bids by evaluating project scope, materials, labor costs, and risks, ensuring competitiveness and compliance with client needs.
  • Analyse costs for efficiency and identify savings opportunities without compromising quality.
  • Work with project managers to create realistic budgets that meet financial objectives.
  • Work with project teams to gather information for estimates and update cost projections for scope changes.
  • Handle cost estimation for multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Build relationships with local suppliers to secure competitive pricing and quality services, and update cost databases regularly.
  • Identify potential project risks and include contingency pricing for unforeseen events.
  • Ensure that all estimates comply with Malta's local building codes, health & safety standards, and electrical regulations.
  • Maintain organised records of estimates, bids, contracts, and project documentation for audits and future reference.
Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, installations, and local regulations in Malta.
  • Familiarity with Malta's construction industry, including local suppliers, subcontractors, and regulatory environment, is advantageous
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • A relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field would be preferred
  • Candidates having strong knowledge in cost estimation techniques and project budgeting principles, including proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Excel will be preferred
