The Finance function oversees and manages the finances of the Authority, supporting the various other functions within the Authority in all financial matters, including the preparation of timely management information, revenue collection, payments to suppliers and service providers, payroll and financial control and budgetary control. The function also sets, monitors and improves the operation of the MFSA's financial control framework, ensuring compliance with established policies and controls. It co-ordinates with the Statutory Auditors on the annual audit of the Authority's Financial Statements drawn up in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards and is also responsible for the timely submission of required statutorily financial information to Parliament.About the Role We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Senior Support Officer to support our Revenue Team with day-to-day operations. You will be expected to carry out the following tasks:
Assisting in the income collection cycle, including issuing fee notices and receipts;
Updating of Fee Registers;
Recording payments received and preparing cheques for deposit at Bank
Updating the Age Analysis Report;
Assisting in the debtors chasing process by following up on outstanding fees due and issuing reminders;
Assisting in the closing of the monthly managements accounts by posting month end journals;
Support general accounting duties and any ad hoc tasks as required;
Undertake any other duties as assigned by the Head and/or as may be required by the MFSA from time to time based on the exigencies of the Authority.
About You Qualification at MQF Level 5 Diploma or equivalent qualification in a relevant field. Professional certifications in the field are advantageous.If you do not have the necessary academic qualifications but you have at least 3 years of relevant experience, we would still be interested in speaking with you.Skills and competencies:
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Comfortable using spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets)
Willingness to learn and take initiative
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Familiarity with Sage is a bonus, but not required
