- Maintaining accurate and up to date records in line with company procedures and accounting standards.
- Reconciling bank and intercompany balances on a regular basis.
- Support monthly and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Monitoring cash flow and assisting in preparing weekly or monthly reports.
- Assisting in the preparation of management accounts and financial reports.
- Ensuring compliance with company policies, accounting standards and legal requirements.
- Preparing documentation for VAT returns and liaising with accountants when needed.
- Liaising with procurement, logistics, and site supervisors to verify invoice approvals and delivery confirmations.
- Communicating with suppliers and clients to resolve payment or account-related queries.
- Participating in system updates, software migration or data reconciliations when needed and implementing accounting software improvements.
- Performing any other finance-related duties as assigned by the accountants.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Knowledge of Maltese accounting standards and statutory compliance.
- Proficiency in accounting software as well as Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Fluency in the Maltese and English languages.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage strict deadlines.
- Good communication skills and capable of working effectively within a team.
