
Tax Supervisor - Malta

- Support the accounting and tax team ensuring work is completed in a timely and accurate manner and acting as a day-to-day contact for clients
- Responsible of daily operations of the tax department, month and year end closing processes.
- Understands and resolves complex technical taxation matters
- Monitors and analyses the data and produces timely and accurate financial reports and statements.
- Provides recommendations for optimizing systems, procedures, corrective actions, and processes
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, ensuring high-quality service delivery and fostering strong professional relationships.
- Maintain a robust compliance framework aligned with local regulations and international best practices.
- Support tax advisory services to a portfolio of international and local clients, including structuring, cross-border transactions, and tax optimisation strategies
- Manage corporate tax compliance, including preparation and review of tax computations, tax returns, and ensuring timely submissions to the Maltese tax authorities
- Ensure clients are up to date with changes in local and international tax legislation and proactively advise on impact and solutions
- Liaise with the MTCA, attend meetings or respond to queries and tax audits
- Support the onboarding of new clients by providing tax input during the set-up process (e.g. tax residency, permanent establishment risks, group structuring)
- Collaborate with legal, accounting, and compliance teams to ensure a holistic service offering.
- Review and draft tax memos, opinions, and advisory letters
- Support and train junior staff
- Assist in developing and enhancing the firm's tax service offerings.
- Chartered Accountant (Qualified tax professional)
- Fluent in English both written and spoken
- Degree in Accounting, or a comparable level achieved through exposure and experience
- At least 4 years' experience
- Excellent knowledge of TAX and other corporate taxation matters
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of international financial markets.
- Excellent knowledge of regulatory requirements for companies in Malta (Statutory deadlines, filing requirements etc).
