
Group Financial Controller

- Lead the consolidation and preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements across the group;
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis and cash flow management at group level;
- Implement and monitor robust financial controls, policies, and procedures;
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies as required;
- Drive automation and digitalisation of financial reporting systems;
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory submissions (ex VAT returns, audited FS, income tax returns etc);
- Partner with operational leaders and the executive team to align financial performance with strategic goals;
- Manage intercompany transactions, and group recharges, and currency exposure;
- Provide analysis and insight on group financial performance, risks, and opportunities;
- Oversee due diligence, acquisitions, and other strategic finance projects;
- Coach and develop finance team members to ensure consistent standards and upskilling;
- Reporting to the board of directors and the CEO.
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA or equivalent recognised accounting qualification);
- Must hold a valid Warrant to Practice as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Malta;
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in finance and accounting, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership or group-level finance role;
- Previous experience in managing group-level consolidation, intercompany reconciliations, and complex corporate structures;
- Strong knowledge of GAPSME and IFRS, local tax regulations, and compliance obligations in Malta;
- Exposure to auditing processes, external stakeholder management, and working with regulatory bodies (e.g. MFSA, MTCA, MSE).
- Proven leadership skills, including team management, coaching, and development;
- Strong analytical thinking with the ability to interpret complex financial data and present strategic insights;
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (preferably ODOO), budgeting software, and advanced Excel;
- Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced, high-growth environment;
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills across all levels of the organization.
- Experience in a publicly listed company or one dealing with investment stakeholders/shareholders;
- Prior exposure to bond issuance, corporate financing, or M&A activity.
