Malta International Airport plc is looking for an experienced and dynamic individual who is passionate about working with people within an Airport environment, is willing to continuously learn, develop, and be part of a high-performance culture. This vacancy has arisen within the Finance Department.Purpose of Position:The overall purpose of this role is to provide assistance to the Head of Financial Controlling & GRC in the preparation of the management accounts, budgeting and forecasting, cost and revenue control, risk management and a reliable governance and compliance framework.Reporting to; Head of Financial Controlling and GRCMain ResponsibilitiesManagement Reporting, Planning/Forecasting, Financial Analysis:
  • Preparation of the monthly consolidated management accounts;
  • Management reporting incl. CAPEX & Staff reporting
  • Monitoring of updating of accruals for OPEX & CAPEX
  • Budgeting and forecasting in collaboration with the Heads of Department
  • Monthly budget control in collaboration with the Heads of Department including analysis of cost control, assessment of revenue and cost savings
  • Working Capital management & analysis
  • Financial analysis of projects carried out from time to time
  • Improving existing financial control instruments and reporting
Other:
  • Support in GRC, namely Risk Management, Corp. Governance and Compliance issues
  • Support insurance process.
  • Support update process of policies & procedures.
  • Assisting Head of Financial Accounting in closing off the accounts and preparation of financial statements for MIA and subsidiaries.
  • Understanding Company accounting policies and applying them consistently.
RequirementsThe ideal candidate should:
  • Preferably have a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field or ACCA qualifications.
  • Be proficient in accounting software (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central) and Microsoft Office.
  • Have in-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.
  • Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong ability to work in a team.
