
Site Safety Coordinator

- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards and unsafe practices.
- Ensure workers, subcontractors, and visitors comply with safety procedures and the Project Health & Safety Plan.
- Assist in enforcing site access control and permit-to-work systems.
- Promptly report safety observations, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions to the Health & Safety Specialist – Infrastructure Safety.
- Facilitate toolbox talks, inductions, and safety briefings onsite.
- Monitor the use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety equipment.
- Support incident investigations by gathering facts and assisting with root cause analysis.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date site safety records, reports, and documentation.
- Collaborate with contractors, site management, and the safety team to resolve safety issues quickly.
- Promote a positive safety culture through engagement and proactive communication with all site personnel.
- Assist in emergency preparedness and response activities.
- Ensure all responsibilities are executed in alignment with the direction provided by the Lead – Health & Safety Officer and the Health & Safety Specialist – Infrastructure Safety.
- To perform any other duties and / or related tasks as may be designated by the Company from time to time.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in construction or infrastructure site safety roles.
- Preferably hold, or be actively working toward, an academic qualification in Occupational Health and Safety that is certified by the Malta Qualifications Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC) at Level 5 or higher.
- Candidates with a lower-level qualification may also be considered, provided they have relevant experience and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development in the health and safety field.
- Strong technical background with practical industry experience in construction.
- Good understanding of occupational health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate clearly and assertively with workers at all levels.
- Proficient in reporting and documentation.
- Team player with a proactive safety mindset.
- First Aid certification.
- Experience in infrastructure or civil engineering projects.
- Training in incident investigation or root cause analysis.
