Our Client is seeking a Legal Associate to support its dynamic advisory team on matters relating to emerging technologies such as digital assets, online gaming, and artificial intelligence. The role focuses on cross-border legal research and analysis within a fast-evolving regulatory landscape, with particular emphasis on the European Union and global frameworks.Key Responsibilities
- Client Advisory Support: Assist Legal Counsels in providing strategic legal advice to clients operating within the gaming, fintech, and crypto sectors.
- Regulatory Research: Conduct in-depth analysis of EU and international regulatory frameworks, including MiCA, DORA, and AML-related legislation.
- Documentation and Analysis: Draft regulatory summaries, client memoranda, and analytical reports to support compliance with cross-jurisdictional requirements.
- Monitoring Developments: Track and interpret updates from key regulatory bodies such as ESMA, national EU authorities, and international organisations.
- Cross-Border Insight: Provide insights on multi-jurisdictional legal impacts, especially concerning emerging tech sectors.
- Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent European legal qualification.
- Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years post-qualification experience in legal advisory, ideally within the regulatory, fintech, or gaming space.
- Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required to succeed in this role. The ability to communicate in Maltese would be an asset.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in drafting formal legal content for a diverse client base.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and engage confidently with clients.
- Technical Skills: Solid grasp of EU regulatory frameworks, including MiCA, DORA, and AML6.
- Organisation: Capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines with precision and attention to detail.
- Self-Motivated: Proactive, inquisitive, and eager to explore legal implications in evolving digital sectors.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and reasoning skills to interpret complex legal texts and provide clear solutions.
