The Head of Finance will take on a pivotal leadership position, steering the financial direction of the Group while ensuring robust controls, accurate reporting, and long-term financial sustainability. This role works closely with senior leadership to support strategic initiatives, optimise financial performance, and maintain a strong governance framework across multiple entities.Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting & Insights: Lead the end-to-end financial reporting cycle across all Group entities, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant outputs, while delivering meaningful analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Budgeting & Strategic Planning: Drive the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting activities, developing financial models and long-term plans to guide the organisation’s growth and investment decisions.
  • Treasury & Tax Oversight: Manage liquidity, oversee banking relationships, and ensure effective cash utilisation, while supervising tax compliance and statutory submissions across all entities.
  • Governance, Risk & Compliance: Strengthen internal controls, oversee audit processes, and ensure adherence to regulatory and financial reporting requirements, promoting a culture of accountability and transparency.
  • Group Consolidation & Alignment: Oversee the consolidation of financial results and ensure consistency in accounting practices, while managing intercompany processes across subsidiaries.
  • Leadership & Team Development: Provide direction, mentorship, and support to finance teams across the Group, fostering a high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with senior stakeholders across departments to support business initiatives, improve efficiencies, and contribute to overall operational success.
Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes
  • Education: A recognised qualification in Accountancy such as ACCA, ACA, CPA is required. Masters in Accountancy is advantageous.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 to 7 years in a senior finance leadership role within a complex or multi-entity environment, with a proven track record in managing teams and delivering high-quality financial outcomes.
  • Language Skills: Excellent command of English is required to succeed in this role. The ability to communicate in Maltese would be an asset.
  • Communication Skills: Strong ability to present financial information clearly to senior stakeholders and translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Confident in building relationships across all levels of the organisation and influencing key decision-makers.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of financial reporting standards, strong analytical and modelling capabilities, and experience using ERP systems such as SAP, alongside advanced Excel proficiency.
  • Organisation: Highly structured approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities across various entities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Self-Motivated: Proactive and driven, with the ability to operate independently and lead initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify issues, evaluate solutions, and implement effective outcomes.
