Reconciliation and Reporting Accountant

- Perform comprehensive financial reconciliations: Review transactions, bank settlements, and billing reports from external providers. Analyze financial data and perform detailed account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies across various accounts and systems
- Ensure data integrity: Monitor the accuracy, completeness, and validity of accounting entries and balances, performing data validations to ensure completeness and accuracy of system interfaces.
- Process Payments and Refunds: Accurate and timely processing of payments for customer refunds in accordance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Support month-end close: Prepare general ledger records and compile and deliver summary reports to support efficient month-end closing activities.
- Enhance financial processes: Review existing processes and implement new ones, recommending improvements based on accounting principles and best practices.
- Develop insightful reports: Develop, maintain, and enhance financial reports and structured analyses to support operational and strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate and communicate: Communicate effectively with external providers and collaborate with operational leaders, finance teams, and cross-functional departments to ensure accurate and efficient financial operations. Participate in process-related internal/external meetings.
- Audit Support: Provide accurate and timely documentation to support audit activities.
- Operational Support: Support the Finance and Product Managers in daily operations, ad hoc requests, and critical decision-making.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2-5 years of relevant experience working for a regulated financial entity or fintech company or experience in advising companies in the financial or fintech sectors.
- Strong working knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS) and regulatory requirements in the financial sector, including but not limited to PSD2, AML, GDPR and other pertinent financial regulations governing payment processing and reconciliation
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including professional written communication. Fluent in English.
- Advanced Excel skills and hands-on experience with financial modeling and data analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- A "can-do" attitude and ability to take initiative, manage priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with operational leaders, finance teams, and cross-functional departments.
