- Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations and food preparation
- Supervise and support kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management
- Prepare and cook dishes according to recipes, ensuring consistency, quality, and presentation
- Oversee daily food production to meet high standards
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment, ensuring equipment and utensils are in good working condition
- Monitor inventory levels, including ordering and restocking ingredients and supplies
- Assist in menu planning and development, including testing new recipes and dishes
- Adhere strictly to Food Hygiene standards and the Site Allergen Procedure
- Follow all health and safety protocols, including proper food handling, storage, and hygiene practices
- Handle food quality or kitchen operation issues, escalating to the Head Chef when necessary
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff for smooth service and timely dish delivery
- Support Head Chef in managing kitchen costs and maintaining budgetary controls
- Cover for the Head Chef in their absence, taking responsibility for kitchen operations and staff management
- Complete required online training within two weeks of start date
- Minimum two years experience in Mediterranean cuisine
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
- Strong organisational and leadership skills
- Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays
- Strong communication skills in English
- Self-motivated, proactive, and enthusiastic
- Willingness to learn and grow within the team
