An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Cost Controller to join the Finance Department at the Malta Marriott Resort & Spa, part of Marriott International and one of Malta’s leading five-star hotels.Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, the Cost Controller plays a key role in ensuring that hotel operating costs are effectively controlled and maintained within approved budgets, while consistently upholding brand standards. The role also involves managing the hotel’s stores and maintaining full accountability over all stock movements.Key Responsibilities:

Monitor and control hotel operating costs in line with budgets

Manage stock control processes and ensure accurate tracking of inventory movements

Conduct regular stock takes and support timely management reporting

Monitor complimentary items and ensure compliance with approved allowances

Maintain and monitor the Point of Sale (POS) system, ensuring menu pricing accuracy

Perform menu and function costings to support profitability and decision-making

Liaise with Purchasing to identify opportunities for cost savings

Carry out outlet spot checks to ensure accurate posting of consumed items

Requirements:

Strong attention to detail with good organisational and time-management skills

Ability to analyse financial data and prepare reports accurately

Capable of working independently as well as part of a team, in a fast-paced environment

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Working knowledge of accounting systems, POS systems, and Microsoft Office

Knowledge of hotel operations and purchasing processes is considered an asset

One to two years’ experience in accounting or cost control, preferably within hospitality
