Make steel bars/ ready for concrete and position reinforcement. Remarks: Full time on permanent basis.Description of duties Build and install formwork (shuttering) to shape wet concrete for structural elements (columns, beams, walls, slabs, foundations, stairs, etc.). Measure, cut, and assemble timber, plywood, or metal panels according to construction drawings. Check alignment, levels, and dimensions to ensure the moulds are accurate and secure. Apply release oil or protective coating so the concrete does not stick to the moulds. Pour and monitor concrete placement to avoid leaks or deformation of the formwork. Dismantle (strip) the shuttering once the concrete has set. Maintain tools, equipment, and materials used for formwork. Follow site safety rules and coordinate with steel fixers, masons, and site supervisors. Technical Skills: - Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and plans. - Knowledge of shuttering/formwork materials (timber, plywood, metal). - Skill in measuring, cutting, assembling, and securing formwork. Concrete Work Knowledge: - Understanding of concrete pouring, curing, and stripping process. - Ability to ensure formwork is level, aligned, and safe before pouring concrete. Assemble and fasten structural elements according to assembly plans and directions
Assemble a formwork (in metal, wood, pvc...)
Assemble and attach precast concrete units
Assemble and place concrete reinforcement
Place steel reinforcing bars (rebars), armouring, inserts, recesses, in mould or prestressed concrete mould
Set out construction site area (safety, storage of the equipment and materials...)
Dismantle the item and disassemble the mould
Pour concrete in mould or prestressed concrete mould
Determine composition/mould measurements/reinforcement type/ pouring/dismantling method according to item for manufacture
Check conformity of products against samples of raw materials, semi manufactures,...
Check conformity of manufactured pieces (evenness, perpendicular position,...) and take samples for analysis
Check loading and supply of cement, concrete and asphalt
