Job DescriptionOur client is seeking a Head of Accounting to manage the full accounting cycle and maintain the General Ledger. The role ensures accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, delivering a fully reconciled trial balance to the Director of Finance.This is a hands-on leadership role, operating with a high degree of autonomy and overseeing both transactional processes and compliance.Location: Hybrid – GziraResponsibilities:As a Head of Accounting, your broad responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Own and maintain the accuracy of the General LedgerPost and review journal entries, accruals, and prepaymentsEnsure all accounts are properly reconciledLead the month-end close process within strict deadlinesComplete and verify all balance sheet reconciliationsAct as primary contact for external auditorsPrepare audit files and supporting documentationEnsure smooth annual audit processPrepare and submit VAT returnsHandle required Maltese and international statutory filingsRequirements:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or FinanceFully qualified Accountant (ACCA, MIA, or equivalent)Minimum 10 years’ experience in a senior accounting roleBig 4 background – highly advantageousExperience in multi-currency environmentsStrong intercompany reconciliation experienceiGaming or online advertising experience is an advantageProven people management experienceAdvanced Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, complex formulas)Strong knowledge of IFRSSolid understanding of Maltese VAT and tax legislationExperience with ERP systems and accounting softwareWhat’s in it for you?Our client offers an exciting, challenging role in a collaborative, dynamic environment.
