
Field Service Technician

- Install, configure, and test POS hardware components (terminals, receipt printers, cash drawers, barcode scanners, payment terminals, etc.).
- Install and configure POS software on client machines, ensuring all updates and settings are correctly applied.
- Coordinate with clients for site readiness, access, and schedule installation windows.
- Perform network setup for POS systems, including routers, switches, and basic cabling (if required).
- Conduct functional testing and ensure proper operation of the installed system.
- Provide end-user training on basic system usage and troubleshooting.
- Document installation procedures, configurations, and client-specific settings.
- Respond to and resolve any installation-related issues, escalating as needed.
- Maintain and manage tools, devices, and installation kits.
- Collaborate with support and project teams to ensure successful deployment.
- Proven experience in hardware/software installation, preferably with POS systems.
- Working knowledge of Windows OS and basic networking.
- Familiarity with POS software such as [Insert relevant software, e.g., Square, Clover, NCR, Toast, etc.].
- Ability to read and follow technical documentation and schematics.
- Strong communication and customer service skills. (Speaking fluent Maltese is Preferred)
- Ability to travel to client sites (valid driver’s license required).
- Physically able to lift equipment and perform installations (up to 50 lbs).
- Technical certification (Preference to those who have certifications like CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar).
- Experience with remote support tools and ticketing systems.
- Experience working in the retail, hospitality, or restaurant industries.
