Whilst reporting to the Restaurant Manager, the Waiter is responsible to provide professional service to our guests dining at Yiamas Greek Tavernaki. The Waiter will deliver friendly and excellent customer service to our patrons and create a welcoming atmosphere. Looking approachable and professional is of utmost importance. He/she is to be part of the waiting team by performing any waiter duties.DutiesServe food and beverage during the day-to-day restaurant operationsSet up tables by preparing linens, silverware and glassesGive great customer service, being friendly and confident when interacting with both colleagues and guestsWarmly greet and serve customersPresent menus to guests and make recommendationsHave in-depth knowledge of menu and be able to provide detailed explanation of the content of the food being servedClean and organise tables and dining areas after guests have finished their mealsAssist with opening and closing duties, including setting up and dismantling the dining area, and restocking supplies as requiredAdhere to the internal standard operating procedures to be followed by all front of house personnelComply with all employer guidelines and legal requirements for health and safety, hygiene, fire safety, licensing and employmentPerform assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with work requirementsExperienceMinimum experience of 1 year in the food catering industry as a waiter will be considered an assetKnowledge and Skills RequiredProfessional appearance and behaviourAble to proficiently communicate in English, additional languages are welcome especially GreekKnowledge of Greek cuisine and culture is a plusAbility to work calmly and effectively under pressureMust be self-motivated and organisedExcellent talent to interact with people in a positive and courteous manner
